無調？ 十二音技法？ 特殊奏法？ Atonality? Twelve-tone music? Extended technique? …現代音楽ってなんなん？ What is contemporary music? ◆ 「ドレミファソラシド」が我が国に伝わったのは、およそ１５０年前。 Major/Minor scales were imported to Japan about 150 years ago. その頃、既にヨーロッパでは従来の「ドレミ」の音楽の行き詰まりを打破すべく、リストやワーグナーといった大物作曲家が未知なる響きを模索していました。まだヨチヨチ歩きの日本の音楽界は、しかしながらオーケストラの楽器、ピアノ、音楽理論といった西洋の様式を驚くべきスピードで吸収し、同時に日本の作曲家たちは西洋の革新的な空気を取り入れようと、舶来品の楽譜やレコードといったメディアに触れました。 In Europe at that time, radical composers including Liszt or Wagner were seeking the sound never heard to progress the music. まだヨチヨチ歩きの日本の音楽界は、しかしながらオーケストラの楽器、ピアノ、音楽理論といった西洋の様式を驚くべきスピードで吸収し、同時に日本の作曲家たちは西洋の革新的な空気を取り入れようと、舶来品の楽譜やレコードといったメディアに触れました。 Although the Japanese musicians were immature about Western music, they absorbed Western styles of orchestral instruments, piano, and musical theory in a very short period. Some of the open-minded Japanese composers sought to acquire a more modern style through media such as musical scores and records imported. ヨーロッパ音楽の未曾有の変化を、日本の作曲家は一体どのように受容してきたのでしょうか。 How have Japanese composers received the radical changes in 20th-century Western music? 今回はそのような時代の流れを追いつつ、演奏家、作曲家、音楽学者、問いかけ役の彫刻家・松井紫朗、そしてお越しいただく皆様とともに、独自の発展を遂げた日本の現代音楽を深彫りしてみようと思います。 Together with the interrogator, the sculptor Shiro MATSUI, us, and all of you, we would like to follow the history of Japanese contemporary music and think deeply about it.
